Specsavers Series 12 - 400 Free |
Click Here to download the results Courtney Butcher, swam out of her skin to record the fastest time of the day in the 400m event of the Specsavers Series staged by the Beau Sejour Barracudas Swimming Club. In the process she set a new Championship record in the 14/15 age group of 4.31.89, knocking no less than 10 seconds off the previous mark. Second placed Leah Winberg was also inside the previous record by 4 seconds as she swam a lifetime best of 4.37.33. Fastest time of the day from the boys was from Miles Munro who touched in an excellent time of 4.10.40. 6.42.68 earned Tatiana Tostevin the gold medal in the 9 years age group. This was the first time that she had competed in this distance and looked strong. In second place Susie Russell improved on her entered time by over 21 seconds to record a great time for a 9 year old of 6.59.12. The boys 9 years title went to a brilliant effort from Elliot Lock who touched in 7.31.74 ahead of Max Lord on 7.40.89. |

Specsavers Series 12 - 200 IM |

Courtney Butcher set a brilliant championship record in the 200 Individual Medley event of the Specsavers Series held by the Beau Sejour Barracudas Swimming Club. Improving on her personal best time by almost 11 seconds and knocking 3 seconds off the record set by Gail Strobridge in the year 2000, Courtney posted the fastest time of the day – 2.26.00, winning the 14/15 age group where she is still at the bottom of the age group. Fastest time from the day from the boys came from Miles Munro, in the 16 years and over age group, he touched in a lifetime best of over 3 seconds – 2.16.37. The 16 and over girl’s title going to Victoria Parfit in 2.31.99. In the boys 14/15 age group there was a really close result with William Mansell just holding on to the title in a personal best time of 2.29.36 from Rory Chamberlain in 2.29.89. 2.48.69 was the winning time from the 12/13 year old girls, coming from another personal best from Hannah Rosumek. Lewis Winberg claimed the equivalent boy’s title finishing a fingernail ahead of Harry Bushby, recording 2.54.77 and 2.54.80 respectively. |

Specsavers Series - 200m Breaststroke |

Tom Hollingsworth and Victoria Parfit, who captained the Guernsey team to victoryin the recent Inter Insular, continued to look strong in the 200m breaststroke event of the Beau Sejour Barracudas Specsavers Series.
Tom was the only record breaker of the event posting a time of 2.23.76 which, despite being outside his personal best, was enough to break his own record in the Series. Victoria recorded the overall fastest time of the girls of 2.46.84.
In the youngest age group – 9 years, Max Lord held on to his stroke and improved on his best by over 8 seconds to just take the touch from Elliot Lock recording 4.11.57, with the girls’ title going to a great swim from Tatiana Tostevin of 3.54.87.

Beau Sejour Barracudas Swimming Club placed second to Staines SC in Division 1 of the Junior Cup competition of the Hants and South Coast Swimming League.
Competing on a postal basis, and seeded in Division 1 following last year’s success, the Barracudas amassed 216 points, with Staines on 235. Haslemere placed third with 199 points with Winchester, Woking and Hart, 4th 5th and 6th respectively.
Swimmers were permitted to swim in a maximum of 5 individual events of which only three were to be in their own age group.
