FULL RESULTS HERE Courtney produced a National Age Group Qualifying Time of 59.25 – the first time that she has dipped under the 60 second barrier and fastest time of the day from the girls! This was a lifetime best by nearly 2 seconds and gave her the championship record previously held by Lotte Parfit. Also finishing inside the record was 2nd placed Annalise Munro who touched in great time of 1.02.03. Miles Munro was fastest of the boys taking Jonathon Le Noury’s record to touch in an impressive time of 53.16. The youngest age group (9 years) saw Tatiana Tostevin and Max Lord take the honours in 1.25.39 and 1.42.01 respectively; while the 10 year olds saw Chris Dufty just take the touch from Tom Stapley in 1.18.3, just .6 of a second off Miles Munro’s age group record. The girl’s title going to Sophie Wilcox who recorded a great time of 1.22.84 over 9 seconds faster than her entered time. Louis Tostevin and Orla Rabey continue to make their mark in the 11 year age group with personal bests of 1.13.70 and 1.16.58 respectively. Both improved on their best times by nearly 4 seconds. There was a very close finish in the 12/13 year girl’s age group with Hannah Rosumek posting 1.09.12, Honor Anderson – 1.09.22 and Georgina Tapp 1.09.68 heading a field of 21 girls in this age group. The boy’s equivalent age group saw William Russell head for gold with a personal best of 1.07.72. Second and third places were close with Lewis Winberg just having the edge on Harry Bushby. There was great excitement in the boys 14/15 age group with Willam Mansell and Rory Chamberlain both dipping under the elusive 60 second barrier for the first time in their swimming careers to record 59.29 and 59.78 respectively. The girls 16 and over title went to Alicia Munro in 1.03.37. There were some enormous improvements in times throughout the age groups with young Susie Russell in the 9 year age group showing the greatest improvement in time by over 16 seconds recording 1.34.16. Courtney Butcher continued in record breaking form in the 100m backstroke smashing the 14/15 Championship age group record by almost 3 seconds. She held on to perfect technique looking strong to record 1.06.45 which was the fastest time of the day for the girls and just .25 away from a further National Age Group Qualifying Time The 14/15 boy’s title went to Rory Chamberlain who posted 1.07.39. Oliver Nightingale also looked strong as he secured the fastest time of the day for the boys in 1.01.57. There was a close tussle in the 12/13 age group between William Russell and Jack Ewins as they touched in 1.16.23 and 1.16.52 respectively and in the girls where Hannah Rosumek just held on to the touch from Honor Anderson in 1.17.29. Tatiana Tostevin won gold for the 9 year old girls in a very strong performance, finishing 10 seconds clear of her nearest rivals in 1.29.48. Rollo Tiffin took the boys equivalent title in 1.44.36. Tom Stapley and Sophie Wilcox produced technically strong swims in the 10 year old age group with times of 1.28.32 and 1.28.44, whilst Orla Rabey and Louis Tostevin looked great winning the 11 year olds section. Nicole Hewlett won the senior title in the 16 and over category in a lifetime best of 1.13.79. Again it was young Susie Russell who made the greatest improvement in time by over 20 seconds to record 1.39.51 |
